This weeks #WCW goes to a girl who’s been on the cool radar for years. A DJ, presenter, feminist, women’s rights activist, former stylist and all round babe - Gemma Cairney. She’s definitely a girl you’ve got to follow.
She talks openly about taboo subjects like domestic abuse, relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, self-confidence and more - all important issues which are covered in her 2017 book release ‘Open - a toolkit for how magic and messed up life can be’. The book is available for pre-order now, check it out here. We can’t wait to get our hands on a copy!
Gemma is a very involved women’s rights activist, speaking at many events and fundraisers, setting a perfect example and being the perfect role model for young gals.
Her bubbly personality is hard not to love, and the way she promotes self-expression and self-love is a beautiful quality.
In the words of Annie Lennox:
“This talented young woman is an absolute dynamo on the issue of women’s rights. She has continued to support ‘the music circle’ through her wonderful ‘rumble in the jumble’ events. Gemma advocates feminism at every opportunity, whether on her Radio 1 show or rocking up to speak at events and fundraisers.”
